The Tony Williams Scholarship Jazz Festival will turn 20 years old this Labor Day Weekend. The celebration begins on Friday, September 3 at the Embassy Suites - Philadelphia Airport. The Scholarship Festival will play host to such luminaries in the jazz world as vocalists, Ms. Justine, Barbara Walker & Barbara Morrison; saxophonists, Larry McKenna, Louis Taylor & Tim Warfield; trumpeters, Leon Jordan, Jr. & Ronnie Waters; pianists, Dick Morgan & Dave Posmontier and drummer, Rob Henderson. A special concert under the direction of Dr. George Allen, noted educator will take place on Sunday afternoon. The Scholarship Festival will play host to such luminaries in the jazz world as vocalists, Ms. Justine, Barbara Walker & Barbara Morrison; saxophonists, Larry McKenna, Louis Taylor & Tim Warfield; trumpeters, Leon Jordan, Jr. & Ronnie Waters; pianists, Dick Morgan & Dave Posmontier and drummer, Rob Henderson. A special concert under the direction of Dr. George Allen, noted educator will take place on Sunday afternoon. A festival favorite returns to help in the celebration— Philadelphia’s own Bill Cosby.

This years honorees include renowned jazz drummer, G. Mickey Roker and bassist, Darryl Hall. Festival honorees will be presented with their awards, Saturday evening preceding the Bill Cosby Reunion Band at 8:30 p.m. of which Roker was a member.

There will be Youth Jazz Concerts on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. showcasing some of the tri-states most talented up and coming students.
